Located along the Elbow River banks, Mission community was named in honor of Father Lacombe, a French missionary who aimed to establish a French-speaking Catholic community in the late 19th century. As part of his effort, he set up the Village of Rouleauville on his purchased section of the area.
Today, Mission real estate is a mixed use development of residential, office and commercial buildings, with some luxury condominiums at the southern section. At the eastern part of 4 St SW, there's a variety of coffee shops, dining, retail stores, medical offices, car washes and service stations. This luxury community is conveniently close to downtown Calgary.
