This past week on “my weekend” I went to Central Market to go grocery shopping and buy a case of wine as the French Wines were on sale and one of our favorites is a Chateauneuf du Pape Gardine. The total came to $374, not bad for a case of wine plus lots of groceries. Well, I thought I would use the Visa Gift Card Bob had given me he told it was $400. I opened it front of the lady and it would not take, I called the number of the card and the balance was only $10.00. I was stunned; luckily I had opened it in front of the lady. Bob called the card company today and somehow someone had used it is some obscure place in California at a Walmart. I do not like Walmart period! So, now we have to write a letter and say that it was stolen. I know many people just throw gift cards in a drawer and forget about them. I just was going to use to use. So, lesson to the wise use your gift cards quickly, I received it in December, I wonder if the perpetrators wait awhile and then if you do not use it in a few months’ time use it and think no one will notice.
