One of the best things about living in NYC, is the possibility of enjoying a rooftop!!! Since space in NYC is clearly at a premium, a rooftop sitting room is undoubtedly a bonus!

While the interior of my Harlem client's new home is not yet ready for occupancy, we've transformed the rooftop into an outdoor sitting room - just in time for the summer!  It's a wonderful place to entertain, an even better place to relax with the New York Times.  And sometimes you can see things that are completely unexpected from a rooftop perspective.  Oh, I'm not alluding to anything nefarious ( as in what Jimmy Stewart saw in Hitchcock's Rear Window) but you never know who might be doing what on a neighboring roof!  And we've even made sure that there are butterfiles visiting this lovely urban garden.

Another great transformation that shows greater potential to new buyers too! As I was reading your post, that song, "Up on the Roof," kept going on in my mind.

What a great way to enjoy the city on top of the world, rather than stuck in traffic or trying to catch a taxi! I could see myself enjoying that rooftop view! Those butterflies are inspiring as well! Makes me think about soaring and mediating outdoors. A few subtle changes can make a big difference!
