San Diego always seems to have activities kicking off the summer, but this year it just seems to be earlier than usual.  Maybe it feels like that only because I don’t feel ready for the summer yet, but let’s get to the fun…

The first fun thing going on is our county fair held at the Del Mar fairgrounds.  It’s actually going to open tomorrow, in the late afternoon at 4pm. So, for all of those people that are off work early on Fridays or just take Friday off altogether, you might want to consider “OPENING DAY” to get a fast start off to your weekend.  As with every year, at the fair they will have concerts, events, exhibits, festivals, and contests. So, there will be a lot to do and you might want to go more than one day. Not to worry because it’s going to be open until July 5^th.

The second fun thing going on is closer to home, at least for me, in Rancho Bernardo on Sunday. It’s the RB Alive Expo with over 300 booths to explore and special interest areas including the Kids Zone with rides and games and the Cultural center will have historical reenactments as well. There will also be a Classic car show for all you car enthusiasts! It starts on Sunday at 10am on Bernardo Center Drive in between Lomica and Bernardo Plaza Court. You may want to get into the area a little earlier, as parking may need some strategic planning since they expect 35,000 visitors. The end of the expo is scheduled for 4pm that day.
