The North Carolina Real Estate Exam for Out Of State Agents

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty Mountain Partners

Last Thursday, I passed my South Carolina real estate exam.  Since I live a half a mile from the state line in North Carolina, I need a real estate license in North Carolina and South Carolina.  The week before the exam, I was sitting around hoping I would pass the South Carolina real estate exam.  At the same time, I was wondering if South Carolina was a homestead state.  I was wondering how many members were on the South Carolina Real Estate Commission.  I was wondering how much are revenue stamps on deeds and what do they call them in South Carolina.

I can assure that anything you learned about real estate in Georgia or Florida or North Carolina or Minnesota is not going to help you on the South Carolina exam. Likewise, anything you know from your current state is very little help when you are taking the North Carolina real estate exam.

It amazes me that many people think that what they have learned selling real estate on the street in some other state will help them pass the North Carolina real estate exam.  Can you balance a HUD 1 RESPA closing statement?  Does your practical "street knowledge"  help you with that?  Do you know the excise tax rate in North Carolina?  No one cares what it is in your state.  It is the North Carolina real estate exam.  Do you know how many members are on the North Carolina Real Estate Commission?  Do you know what we call a mortgage here in North Carolina?  I will give you a hint.  The borrower is not called the mortgagor.

If you are soon taking the North Carolina real estate exam, you need to know things that only studying North Carolina stuff will teach you.  Please don't fool yourself into thinking that you can pass the North Carolina real estate test without studying.  You need to study the right stuff.  Take my practice test at http://www.rondclimer.blogspot.com/2015/04/real-estate-practice-exam-for-north.html .  If you don't pass my practice test, you probably will not pass the North Carolina real estate exam either.  Mine is free.  North Carolina charges $63 for theirs.  Do not underestimate the North Carolina real estate exam.  It is not easy.  If I can help you , call me at 828 755 6996.  I live and sell real estate near Hendersonville, North Carolina.  I tutor students that are close enough to get together.  My review class at www.northcarolinaexamreview.com is the easist, least expensive way to learn what is on the North Carolina real estate exam.  You can find the answers to the pracice test for free at that same site.
