Social Media is best served with doodles and coffee.

One of the things I really enjoy about my work is the people! And I love the fact I’m out and about and we’re always up to something creative and interesting. I love brainstorming about marketing in the here and now with my coworkers and clients.

Some of the best times ever have been meetings at coffee shops and cafes. A morning get together over a good cup of Joe is one of my favorites. I like the social setting. For me it’s the perfect place to talk about online marketing concepts and social media strategies.

As much as I am a total nerd student about technology and the way of the life online, I have a longtime old school habit. I doodle... My brain simply works better when I make sketches of our conversation.

 

Real Estate in the Social Age.

 

So when I’m out the door in the morning I load up my Explorer including my briefcase, my laptop, my iPad, and of course, I always have my iPhone with me. My 6 Plus is my office!

And I always make sure I have 2 sheets of paper neatly folded separately in my shirt pocket and a favorite pen.

You know, when opportunity strikes, I’m ready to doodle.

Rene, A couple of your phrases caught my eye "market to the room that is full" and "the law of attraction".  Makes sense, find the place that is booming because that's where the business is.  And the 2nd phrase is why for the most part our blog is absent rants.  I'm not looking for clients that will suck the life force out of me with negativity.  Bill

I have always been a doodler.  From as young as I can remember I was often getting into trouble in school for doodling and not listening. But often I think my doodles were better than the actual "notes" of many of my peers.

Well Tammy Lankford, they've com full circle now. There's a great article in TIME magazine from 2009, "Doodling Helps You Pay Attention." I used to get in trouble for doodling in school too!

Hi Troy Erickson ... I meet with sales reps a lot and really enjoy when the occassion is about meeting new clients! I used to doodle a lot when on the phone, but not so much with smartphones. :O)

Hi Chris Ann Cleland ... a marketing doodle ;0) I like to do that too, mostly landscapse or cityscapes...

There is something about meetings and the doodles of some, which can be fascinating.  I  sometimes doodle during meetings too.  I'm not entirely conscious of it until the end of a session, and look down to see creative thoughts married to those more focused, and provoked into design!
