How Are You Celebrating National Email Week?

By
Real Estate Agent with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Koenig Rubloff Realty Group - Chicago, IL

Did you know that the second week in June is National Email Week? Are you doing anything special like maybe adding celebratory emojis to your emails?

Perhaps you're "celebrating" by searching for and clearing out old emails that you saved or just decided to skip after you read them. That's what I'm doing.  My celebration involvNational Email Weekes whittling down all those old emails that I overlooked deleting after I read them the first time around because:

  • I glanced at them on my way to/from an appointment and never went back to delete them
  • I read them and decided to hold on to them "just in case" I needed them later

Many of those old emails turned out not be be important and ended up being forgotten with the day-to-day deluge of new emails.

Tending to our email inboxes is like tending to a garden. Our inboxes need pruning. When we do not prune, they become overgrown with emails that are no longer relevant.  Those old emails can block us from seeing a current and possibly important email.

However you choose to celebrate let me wish you a Happy Email Week!

I'm sure you'll receive plenty of "gifts" all week long. Happy Email Week 2015

Karen Winters - did not know about 'email week'!

Great suggestion on PRUNE - however, in our business, it'a always a good idea to keep all correspondence with all clients.

I always look at people who can get to an empty inbox with wonder, mine are so full with billions of emails from ~20 years of never quite cleaning the folders out.

This is too funny. I didn't even know. I will take your suggestion and work on those 1000 emails that seem to grow daily.    Then maybe send out a few extra special emojis  LOL

Karen, I also need to clean up my inbox with all those unnecessary emails. Nice project to work on the next few days. Perhaps, I will do it while watching the NBA Finals.
