I Had THREE Choices
I had three choices...ignore the problem, complain about it OR take action. What was the problem? Our wireless Internet connection was slower than usual. Websites were taking what seemed like forever to load.
On Day One, I more or less ignored the problem. It was annoying, but I was hoping it was a temporary problem, perhaps caused by the daily storms we seemed to be having. If the screens took too long for my patience, I would just walk away from my laptop and do something else. I chose to IGNORE the problem.
When my husband came home today (Day Two) and settled down at his laptop to do some work he found a slow connection. Of course, I was experiencing the same. I was still chosing to IGNORE the problem and more or less except it. My husband, on the other hand was NOT having it.
He chose option number #2 and began to COMPLAIN. Upon hearing him, I decided it was time for option number three, TAKE ACTION. After spending 2 days ignoring the problem, I didn't have the patience to listen to him COMPLAIN. I called our Internet provider and spent a good 30-40 minutes on the phone, but I got the issue solved.
What did I learn today? The best option is generally to TAKE ACTION. I'm not a huge fan of spending time trouble shooting on the phone with a service provider, but it resolved the problem. Next time I'll make the call.
