Nobody Told The Contractor
To Prime The Wood Trim
One of the common practices in the replacement of dry rotted wood trim and siding is to prime and caulk the new work. If I replace a few boards they should be caulked and primed, ready for paint. There are several reasons for this, one of which is you do not know how long it will be for the painter will paint.
Even if the painters are coming, they probably bid the job before seeing the extent of any repairs. If the new wood is ready for paint, there shouldn't be a good reason to change the painting estimate.
We make it a practice to have our work ready for the painter, we will be bidding on getting this job by another contractor ready for the painter next week.
