The museum is open Tuesday – Saturday from 10 AM – 5 PM and Sunday from 2 PM – 5PM. Cost of admission is $5 for anyone 12 and over. For children ages 3 – 11, military personnel, and people 65 and over the cost of admission is $3. Children 2 and under are admitted for free. Dome shows are an additional fee. You can also purchase tickets to just the dome shows.
Show your dad that you think he hung the moon by taking him to a Dome show at the planetarium. Dome shows are on Tuesday – Saturday at Noon, 2 PM, and 4 PM. The Noon show features Legends of the Night Sky: Orion. The 2 PM show features Dawn of the Space Age. The 4 PM show features Back to the Moon for Good.
The planetarium’s dome is a 40-foot, 360 degree, high definition, surround sound adventure that will create a lasting memory and change the way you look at the sky.
The Museum of the Southwest has a special Summer Sunday Lawn Concert scheduled for June 21st. There will be a special raffle held for the dads in attendance. The show is hosted by Lite FM and will include two acoustic shows. Tommy Lewis and The Piano Room with Adam Rivera are scheduled to perform. The concert takes place on the front lawn of the Turner Mansion. The concert is free, but bring along a blanket or chair. Concerts begin at 7:30 PM and end at 9 PM.

Take dad back to the days of his youth with a trip to the drive-in movie theater. No need to sneak in or put people in the trunk, admission is a very reasonable $8 for people age 12 and over. Children ages 6 -11 get in for $6. Children under 5 get in for free. The price of your ticket allows you to see two movies. That’s a double feature for one price!
They are open every day of the week and have three screens. The box office opens at 7 PM each night. Get there early to get a prime spot with the best view. If you want to give the drive-in experience to your dad as a gift he can enjoy whenever he wishes, they do offer gift cards that can be used for the price of admission and the snack bar.
Speaking of the snack bar, they have an awesome selection! They have dinner boxes that include chicken strips, steak fingers, and shrimp. Snacks include popcorn, pretzels, and nachos. Got a taste for chicken wings? They have those, too! Don’t forget the old drive-in standbys of hot dogs and cheeseburgers. Other items include pizza, beef jerky, funnel cake, various candies, and corn dogs. Beverages include soft drinks, water, Icee, Powerade, and lemonade.
