The Gardener of Your Thoughts

“Don’t Water your weeds.”

Harvey MacKay, Businessman, Author, Syndicated Columnist

As I see it. . . . . . . .

The gardener of your thoughts

When you have weeds in your garden . . . . remove them.

When the weeds in life are creeping up around you remove them . . . . and don’t give them chance take root and grow.

Don’t give in to the weeds of negative thinking . . . . to allow them to take over the garden where your thoughts grow.  Remove the weeds from your thinking . . . . and give your mind the room to grow without being hindered by negative thinking.

The weeds are the distractions and negative thoughts that clutter your mind . . . . and your thinking. Those weeds have the capacity to derail your success journey . . . . and pull you off course.

Become the gardener of your thoughts . . . . and when weeds begin to pop up . . .  . Remove them before they take over the garden of your thoughts. When you remove the weeds from your thinking . . . . your mind becomes clear to follow a pathway of positive thinking.

Keeping a clean and clear mind is sometimes very hard to do. I will catch my grandson in a monk like pose sometimes, I guess clearing his thoughts?

I love this one. I can see how this relates to someone's well being, but I'm also a gardener.I just came in from checking my garden. I might have to do some weed patrol in a few days to keep everything growing smoothly.

Lou - just like a garden that is overgrown your mind can become overgrown with negative without gardening.

Yep, some minds like abandoned gardens full of spiders and weeds, some minds are well organized and taken care of.

What a unique way of thinking about your mind stuff!  We can't always control the outrageous things life brings our way.  But, we can control our reaction to them.

Lou thank you so much for this touching post.  It seems very appropriate after my Have A Peachy Day post.  I think of my life as the possibility for growth, harvest and bounty!

Good morning Lou,

I caught this on Kathy Streib's post on her "Ah-ha" moments for the week. I agree this is an excellent analogy and one we need to make sure we do..weeding out negativity is a daily battle we need to stay focused on.

Lou, weeding, de-cluttering, all of these mental "clean-ups" are good for all of us.

And removing toxic personalities from your garden of thought makes for a healthy arena of positivity, too!

That's a whole new approach Lou. I like the idea of getting to the root of the problem and not spraying the entire ground with weed killer. I need to keep a closer watch. Here via Kathy.

This is such a great post, Lou!  Watering those weeds will add to your stress and that's never a good thing!
