One of my favorite stories comes from Milton Erickson, the famous Psyhiatrist.
Milton was seeing two seperate patients. Both were young and not in a relationship. Each week they came to see Milton and most of the hour spent in therapy was talking about how unhappy they were because they were not dating anyone or finding anyone to date.
So here is what Milton did.
He told the one patient that she had to go out to the park during her lunch break and sit on a park bench to eat her lunch.
He told the other patient that he must take his lunch break walking in the park.
Low and behold these two people met each other in the park and they started talking and found out the liked each others company and started dating and stopped therapy.
The moral to this story is that sometimes we can think things happen by fate or we can manipulate them to look like fate. Inother words do you run your business as though things just happen or do you make things happen.
