My Hair is on fire and my fan has streamers

No kidding, My Hair is on fire and my fan has streamers on it, it is 115 degrees outside, I think my dog just melted.

I am going out and show homes to buyers today, NOT!  I have taken up permanent residency at our local gelato shop.  While I am sitting here, I started thinking I'll bet all of you folks have always wondered why did streamers get put on fans.  Well, let me tell you.

At a very large airplane hangar in Texas during WWII there were lots of folks working on planes and they complained that it was really hot inside.  So the good management had a number of very large fans installed in order to try and cool the workers.  However, the folks still complained that the fans were not working and it was still hot.  So the good management in all of their wisdom had streamers tied to the fan covers so when the fans were on the streamers would be always moving.  Now the working folks were all very happy because they could see the fans were working and the air felt much cooler.

I know what you are thinking; this is a very cool story!  Oh, the hair on fire thing, that was just to get your attention.  If you should have any more questions about fans, don't call Jim Miner at 602-345-0433 because this is all he knows.

Thanks for the laugh and the new information!  Hasn't gotten too hot here in SoCal yet, but I'm ready for the warmer weather.
