Where Is The Light Switch?

Where Is The Light Switch?

My husband and I both spent the entire day (Fathers Day)  showing homes to my out of state client.

At one home we went to I thought of all the city inspectors and home inspectors I personally know and here on Active Rain.

I always expect to see some homes that need windows and tubs re-caulked. Yes and I expect to see some floor tiling that needs replacing. Actually, lots of things that need to be taken care of.

So the picture below is what I saw today and thought... "Man... this can't be in the It's OK Code Book!"

YUP!  There is a light swith on the ceiling to turn on the pot lights. That is just plain crazy!

I never heard of canned lights being called pot lights before and I have never seen a switch in the ceiling either.

We do see some of the craziest things. And that is crazy! Not only did they put it in a "different" location, but then they camouflaged it with paint. Are you sure there weren't hidden cameras there watching you try to find the switch?

Andrea Swiedler I could not even reach the switch it was way over my head! I have often wondered if there were cameras in homes that were occupied. It is a creepy feeling.

Makes one wonder what that person was thinking. Maybe did not want to run the electrical down the wall.  Very odd indeed. Nice job of stucco over the switch plates too.

Well Lou Ludwig I guess it would not hurt to have it on the ceiling but heck I could not reach it to turn it on.  I just wonder if they did something like that which is not really a good idea.... how many other "ideas" like that are there in this home?
