We successfully converted the ActiveRain website back to our original www.activerain.com website domain last night. The change-over required approximately 1.5 hours of downtime for the site.
The domain change is part of a transition project to support the purchase of ActiveRain by Ben Kinney.
You don't need to make changes to any existing links to their content that they have placed online. The system will automatically redirect those links to the right page.
While We Were Tinkering...
As part of this release, we also worked in the following updates:
- We fixed a bug that was preventing our members from upgrading to a paid RainMaker account if they cancelled their RainMaker status at any time in the past.
- Links in the "Get to Know Me" section on the profile page were breaking. Thank you Craig Daniels .
- We updated the Comment section on our blog posts so images are automatically adjusted down to a width that fits that area.
What To Expect This Week
From June 23-30, we’ll have a few more periods of downtime on the site as our engineers move all of the technology over to its future new home. We’ll do our best to alert members to any outages.
We don't anticipate any issues relating to links, content and SEO.
Thanks for your patience while we work through these changes.
