Google seeks 3 qualities on websites.
To show up high on search engines, you need to be:

1) Trustful. The website has been around for quite some time and has been indexed many times (Google likes to recommend reliable resources)

2) Popular. The website is generating a lot of traffic (either through Social Media, Pay Per Click advertising, and internalized direct and email marketing)

3) Creative. The website has fresh (and most importantly “relevant”) content for Google to scan. It makes sense that Zillow, Trulia, Redfin, and Realtor.com own the top spot. They have accomplished all the three above for high search engine placement. They have been around for a while, they draw millions-of-people -worth of traffic, and they have new content added each day (for example, new listings and price changes).

Master all three by committing to a few easy, low-cost additions that will improve your internet presence and your clients’ experience on your website.  

1) Create Custom IDX links for the types of properties or areas you want to sell. 
First, choose 5 cities, or 5 neighborhoods that you want to target
- Second, identify the types of properties or amenities you want highlighted. For example, homes near golf courses, luxury homes, homes with an ocean view, water front properties, or  horse properties.


Get on Google’s “good side” by being as specific as possible. 
The more detailed the custom IDX links are, the more likely Google will recommend your website to Googlers.

You will most likely not show up on a “Austin Real Estate” search, but you have a good chance of being found through a “Austin Horse Properties under $1,000,000”search. The more specific the page, the better chance you have for Google to “recommend” your website. Specifics are considered “long tailed key words.” This way you will have a the best chance of being found online, outside of someone looking up your name.


YOU should take control of how often you get attention. 
Each listing found on a Custom IDX page is a page of content. This means that you just added hundreds of pages of content for Google to scan. Moving forward, each time Google scans your website (and all other websites) your website will have a different amount of pages.  Since the MLS updates everyday, your website consequently changes everyday.  This ensures your website remains “fresh.”
 
You’ve started to break the ice. Just a couple more steps.

2) Update the SEO Description for the page (found in your PropertyMinder Toolkit)
On the left side of your Toolkit click on “Website Editor.” Next, locate “Buttons.” This will open up the screen for every page on your website.
- In your buttons, click “Edit” on your new Custom IDX link.
Next, you will need to name the button (Permalink or Human Readable link).  For example, if you name the button “Austin Horse Properties under $1,000,000” the permalink will be: 
www.yourdomainname.com/austinhorsepropertiesunder1MM

This makes the button more marketable and specific to what the page offers.

After you set the permalink, you will need to fill in the SEO description. Approach the SEO Description with these questions: How many different ways can I describe the page I just created, so Google can recommend me more often? Example, the first search phrase is “Austin Horse Properties under $1,000,000.”

The other descriptions should be other variations of the the phrase, for example: “Horse properties in Austin under a million dollars,” “Affordable Austin horse properties for sale,” “Buying a horse property in Austin TX under $1,000,000.” Make sense?

- Next , Add keywords for each page. Make sure to separate them by a comma (,). Examples of keywords are: Austin, Homes, horse property, for sale, $1,000,000.


3) The final step. Go to www.google.com/addurl and enter the URL of the page you created “www.domainname.com/austinhorsepropertiesunder1MM.”  By doing this, you are adding that web page to the list of pages that Google will scan on their next “crawl.”

Stop lagging and initiate friendly exposure. 
Take just 20 minutes per day to make small improvements to your website. Creating a Custom IDX page is not enough. Adding meta tags and keywords is not enough.

If you want Google to recommend your website, you must have pages of content to offer. These pages of content must be labeled properly, described properly, and submitted properly.


Attracting people to your website is always a work in progress.
So, remember: even 20 minutes a day, pays!
