In real estate, I often see my clients jumping to conclusions. Their perception is their reality. As we start to reach 100 degrees here in Boise, Idaho, my mind starts to wander to far off places . . . how about snow skiing in Iran . . .
I don't like it when people typically jump to conclusions before they have the facts. For example, when you think of skiing in Iran do you conjure up images of sand skiing or deep powder on top of one of the 40th highest ski resorts in the world reaching up to 11,800 feet?
This is the image of what people think of when they hear me talk about skiing in Iran.

However, this video tells you what snow skiing is like in Iran. I was blessed to be to start a ski club for the Tehran American School back in 1977 and I loved skiing at Shemshak and Dizin.
Many people don't believe me that there is such great skiing there. I have to show them videos like this to prove it. I just wish we had Go Pro type cameras back then to remember the fun we had.
Living in different places around the world has helped my perception of it. It helps me as an instructor for the At Home With Diversity designation for the National Association of Realtors. It helps me teach my children how to grow up into young men. It helps me realize the need to research and learn before jumping to conclusions.
I hope this blog makes you do a reality check on your perceptions.
