Selling a Home May Sometimes Need a Toothbrush!

Selling a Home May Sometimes Need a Toothbrush! Many homeowners under estimate the resolve of their Agent to sell their home. Case in point, I remember a movie released in 1999 staring Ann Bening and Kevin Spacey. The movie was focused on a middle age husband that had an infactuation for his daugher's best girlfriend. I thought it was kind of a scarey subject, (especially if I had a daughter) however being that I am REALTOR, I related to only one scene in the movie, that I will never forget:

Ann Bening's character was a real estate agent for a Luxury real estate company. She was a Newbee, and needed to sell a home. What is imprinted on my memory pads about the movie was how serious she was about selling the home. She was dressed very professionally in her expensive black dress, stelatoes, and hair coiffeured. (every strand in place) What she did next made me Laugh out loud. She sheaded the dress, kicked off her shoes, and began to scrub furiously the dust in the window sill with a TOOTHBRUSH as she repeated over and over again, "I AM GOING TO SELL THIS HOUSE TODAY!

How many of us have scrubbed floors, washed finger prints off of windows, put dishes in dishwashers, sprayed room freshners, and flushed toilets before showing a home? Was that in our job description? I forgot...

Sellers have dedicated professionals who will go that extra mile to make sure your home sells! By any means possible.

Make sure you visit my house for sale this weekend - I won't need the toothbrush, this house is perfect.

Cynthia, it is great to see another "CAN DO" real estate professional who does what it takes to get the job done as some sellers are not able to do these types of things or think it unnecessary.  We have done it all from shoveling snow(hopefully not something you deal with in the Phoenix area), mowing grass, painting, cleaning, you name it.  Best wishes for a successful open house this weekend!

I'm a buyers agent, practicing exclusive buyer agency.  There's something that we do too!  I just crawled under a deck in order to clean out cat droppings, because the home inspector wuss didn't want to go into the crawlspace with that being there.  Geez, I cleaned it out.  The inspector made it seem as if the HAZ MAT team needed to come out in their quarantine suits.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I have habitually worked trimming bushes, weeding flower beds and cleaning the flower beds all the time, especially when I have a open house and not busy.  I helped clients with landscaping ideas and hands on approach to making their property inviting!!!
