Pride of Madeira, Echium candicans
Flower photography can lead to some interesting information on the flowers and plants that you photograph. I post some of my photographs in multiple Facebook groups and have a worldwide audience. When I posted a Pride of Madeira photograph in the Flowers Paradise group on Facebook, I received the following comment from Subhash Sharma.
“ This blue and beautiful and bold looking 'Pride of Madeira' (Echium candicans) is drought & deer tolerant water conserving is a popular ornamental plant which forms lovely landscapes wherever it grows. Although native to the island of Madeira it grows in many parts of the world including New Zealand, Australia and California. The hairy leaves however be handled with caution as they can cause skin irritation or allergic reaction in some people.” - Subhash Sharma
