Longest Commute Times?

According to the Tampa Tribune yesterday, the Cape Coral/Ft. Myers area has the longest commute times in all of Florida!  I have lived here for almost 15 years and I really find that hard to believe!

Their reason for the long commute times is due to the canal systems in Cape Coral.  We have over 400 miles of canals.  Now, sometimes they can be challenging to get around, but they are not that bad.  Once you figure them out you can get around pretty easily.  

Having said that, our traffic has increased considerably over the last 15 years.  There are times I certainly wonder if our commute times are the longest!  Then I go and visit my son in Deerfield Beach...
