I wrote an earlier blog regarding the Falcon9 Rocket launch over the weekend. The launch was from the Cape Canaveral Air Station over the weekend. A little over 2 minutes into the launch, the rocket exploded approximately 30 miles above the Cape.
NASA is asking that anyone that finds debris on the beach from the explosion to NOT TOUCH debris and to NOT MAKE CELL PHONE CALLS near debris. Move away and call the authorities.
On a personal note, while this explosion is a setback, I am confident that Elon Musk and SpaceX will get right back to the drawing board to correct whatever problems caused this. Since SpaceX is planning on carrying Astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS) in just a few short years, it is so much better that this disaster occured on an unmanned mission. The scientists at the ISS do have sufficient supplies to last them through October.
