Barbara Corcoran IS the Real Deal!

This past spring I had the pleasure of meeting my idol and real estate extraordinaire, Barbara Corcoran!

While skiing in Utah, my family and I sat down to lunch one day and we were excited to notice Ms. Corcoran at the table next to ours! My niece, Kate, is a huge fan of "Shark Tank" and I, of course, am inspired by her real estate expertise. After getting over our nerves, Kate and I approached Barbara and, to our delight, she couldn't have been more lovely and gracious to chat with a pair of giddy fans!

At the time I was in the middle of a particularly tough negotiation. So, I asked her if she could give a little advice from one real estate colleague to another. Her response was simple and clear: "Remember that when negotiating, always make everyone feel special and that they have won."

So true! These are words I now always keep in mind.
