Is a Mounted Elk Head on the Wall a Fixture?

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

I thought when I sat down to write my blog today that I would talk about our trip to Florence, Oregon, and share all the photographs of that adventure, including the darlingtonia, but the other side of my brain had a different idea this morning. So I just went with the flow. As you know, we have housesitters taking care of hearth and home and cats as my husband and I are frolicking about the Oregon Coast this week on vacation.

He still gets annoyed but understands when I need to sit on a bench at the Heceta Lighthouse and send a text message to sellers to let them know the buyer's lender has once again dropped the ball on the buyer's loan and forgot to tell us about a funding condition until now. Now being that we are facing a 3rd extension to the escrow. But it's a simple fix, if we can get our hands on the required document. If something needs my attention, I stop what I'm doing and take care of it. That's just how our vacations go. But there is also another side that I will share with you. You can read more about Elkie, the mounted elk head, and that trippy situation in my personal blog today at this link: Road Signs and Elk on the Oregon Coast.

That is how most Realtor vacations go I think, there is some stuff that needs to be stayed on top of even when trying to relax. Enjoy the vacation!

Yep, that pretty much describes a vacation! Now about that elk head--I'd be sure to write in the contract that the elk head is to be removed, and does not stay in the house.

I would never have pegged you as someone who would delight in buying an Elk head for your wall.  Glad you found Elkie a good home at an Elk's lodge.

That picture of a cat on a leash reminded me two cats of my different neighbors. I often see the neighbors walking with their dogs, and each of them are followed by a cat. Go figure.

Lots of people would not peg me as an elk head enthusiast. But you know what? I never used to like blueberries and now I find that I do. Especially Oregon blueberries. Very sweet. You change when you least expect it.
