First and foremost, what I love about living in Gilbert, AZ is the weather, which is beautiful year round. It is summer right now, so for most people it is too hot, but I definitely prefer it being too hot than being too cold. I have never had to shovel snow and I will be fine if I never have to do so, haha. Other than the heat, the worst we get are occasional dust storms, but they don't last long and look really cool.
The scenery is great and there are many diverse places within a few hours drive that are really nice to visit. The Grand Canyon is only around 3 hours away and is such a majestic site. In the winter, when it is around 70 degrees outside, we are also only a short drive away from places that will have snow, like Flagstaff, Payson or other higher elevation areas. The hiking is amazing and so many great places to explore while enjoying the views, without having to travel very far at all.
The people here are very friendly and welcoming to all, whether you are a resident or a visitor. The housing is affordable, especially compared to California. Overall, the cost of living seems very reasonable here, especially since it is so beautiful and there is plenty to keep one occupied. In summation, the five things for me that make Gilbert, AZ the best place to live are the weather, the scenery, diverse getaways, affordability and the friendly people. As a bonus for me, my favorite part about Arizona is the University of Arizona Men's Basketball team. They are one of the top teams in the nation every year, so I am always rooting them on to win the National Championship. Hopefully we will win it again soon!!!
If you have not been to Gilbert, AZ yet, you should definitely visit soon. I know you will love it and you will likely have a desire to live here as well. I know a good Realtor if you want to buy a home here!!!
