Jennifer Provencio thank you for stopping by. Yes, there are solar panels, but the battery and collection of energy is simply much more efficient that it has been in the past.

I haven't heard of the powerwall. This is really interesting. I did live off the grid for many years and I found it wonderful. This sounds better and I don't think the battery cost is that high compared to solar batteries or the cost of living on the grid for 10 years.

This sounds ike a great idea instead of the traditional solar panels, and those can get pretty expensive. The other thing I like is that you appear to purchase them rather than leasing. Many buyers are not willing to take on a sola panel lease when buying a home, and appraisers don't attribute any value to them, so for those who are not necessarily big on saving energy they are not viewed in a positive way

How interesting Nick, I always believed that purchasing is the way to go....leasing could be deal killers at resale time....Endre

Nick I checked into solar panels earlier this year and they did not offer much of a saving for my house, but this sounds like it would be a better option for me and the cost is not as high as I thought it would be.

Hi Nick. This is a very exciting development for home solar and storage. And, it has many utility companies very nervous.

Nick, interesting information, we have not seen this in Denver yet (or I have not). We are seeing many homeowners with Solar City solar panels.

Nick, solar and green technology in general is constantly evolving. I just returned from Germany where many rooftops are covered in solar panels and they don't even get that much sun! Initial is a factor but on the other side the cost of increasing utility bills is a factor too!

Nick T Pappas ... I had not heard of Tesla's technology, so you definitely educated me. Sounds pricey upfront, but once you do the math .. and cost comparisons ... it starts to make sense. I'm definitely onboard cutting energy costs and keeping my money from the utility companies ...

Hi Nick: It think this battery option is less expensive than the solar. I wonder what other green products will be offered in the near future.
Thanks for this info. This is another breakthrough.

Hi Nick, This is an interesting approach and worth checking into when looking into solar as an option. Weighing the expense for the return is the hard part but being green is so important to some people that they are willing to spend thousands to do that.

WOw I love Tesla and their innovations...I like the idea of the battery backup especially Nick for power outages...this is really something to explore as it fine tunes its product.

Nick,
I think i will refrain from comments on lithium batteries I keep my fingers they are as good as some people say and do not burn things down.
PS About my photos yesterday, I am glad you had no problems I did it was not me and I was not alone you may have missed the part where my entire gallery was gone. Thank goodness it is back!
Yolanda Cordova-Gilbert, I know that members don't always experience the same glitches at the same time. I was just showing you that my photo gallery was still intact. Hope your problems were resolved.

Nick,
DId you see the news about the Lithium battery on World News tonight!
Thanks for clarifying have a good weekend!
Tesla - there was a genius that made an enormous difference and did not live to know how much he would be appreciated! Solar is indeed the future! When I was in Europe last time, I was amazed at the number of homes with solar panels all over the roof!
I heard that it is a really big deal in China. Everyone is using it solar roofing projects.
I'd love to have Tesla Power-wall. Everything that is coming from Tesla is brilliant and very successful products.
Nick, I am intrigued! There are no solar panels? This sounds like it could be a solution to so many people who want to save money or are renters.
