The 4th of July is on Saturday this year so you have the whole day to celebrate our great country!  If you’re wondering what to do on the fourth of July in Pinole and the Bay Area, below you will find some great ideas for a fun filled weekend.  

 

Richmond’s Independence Eve Celebration

 

Are you looking to get an early start on fireworks?  This will be the seventh year that the City of Richmond puts on this free Independence Eve Celebration held at the Craneway Pavilion inside the Ford Point Building on the waterfront in Richmond.  At the event you will enjoy food and a live concert held by the Oakland East Bay Symphony which will include Sousa marches, music from movies, sing-a-longs and more!  With floor to ceiling windows throughout the space, the Craneway pavilion is a perfect place to enjoy the City of Richmond’s fireworks display. There is secured parking for the event for $20.  Doors open at 6:30 PM.

 

Hercules - 4th of July 5k and parade 

 

Hercules second Annual Dynamite run/walk - the 5k will take you through Refugio Valley Park in Hercules.  In addition to the 5k, there will also be a 1 mile walk and a 1/4 mile walk for children ages 3-8 years old.  The route is flat ensuring a good time for runners and walkers of all levels.  After the 5k, there will be refreshments, awards and a 4th of July parade.  The 5k and 1 mile walk begin at 8:30 and the 1/4 mile walk starts at 9:30.

 

Hercules 4th of July Parade - the parade begins at 10:45 am at the corner of Sequoia and Redwood Roads.  The parade will head down Redwood to Sycamore and end at the Refugio Valley Park.

 

The event benefits the Rotary Club of Hercules.  

 

Martinez - Free Pancake Breakfast, Flag Raising Ceremony and 4th of July Parade

 

Go to downtown Martinez to enjoy a free pancake breakfast sponsored by Roxx on Main (627 Main St) from 8 AM - 10 AM.  Before or after you enjoy your pancakes, head down to the the Veterans Memorial Building (930 Ward St) from 9 AM - 9:15 for the flag raising ceremony.  After you’re full, stick around for the 7th Annual 4th of July Parade in Martinez which will start at 10 AM at Court St. and Main and will end at Main St. and Alhambra St.

 

El Cerrito - WorldOne 4th of July Festival

 

This annual event held at Cerrito Vista Park (950 Pomona Avenue, El Cerrito, CA 94530) begins at 10 AM and ends at 7 PM.  The event is a free, family friendly event hosted by the City of El Cerrito and worldOne.  Thousands are expected to celebrate our country together at this event which includes live entertainment, carnival games, jump houses, rides, circus imagination entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, El Cerrito Art Association Art Show and Sale, food, brazilian music and dance by BrasArte, and much more.  

 

Albany - A Green, Red, White & Blue Celebration!

 

A Green, Red, White & Blue Celebration in Albany is not only a fun filled day for the family, but the goal is to have a zero-waste event by using compostable plates and utensils and recycling all cans, paper goods and other materials.  Starting at 12 PM and ending at 4 PM, the celebration is held at Memorial Park (1325 Portland Ave, Albany, CA 94706).  Food will be provided by local food trucks including Boffo Cart, Sweet and Mellow, WhipOut!, No Worries: Vegan Fillipino Food, Canasta Kitchen and Korean Soulful Fried Chicken.  Children can purchase a Fun Bank for $5 which gives them unlimited use of: zip line, pony rides, rock wall, petting zoo, jump houses, a game tent, dunk tank, human hamster balls and face painting.  Adults will enjoy a car show from 12 PM - 3 PM.  In addition to the wonderful food and games, t ake part or enjoy the entertainment throughout the day!  

 

12 PM - 1 PM - Live music by Bill Evans & Friends

1:10 PM - 1:35 PM - Watermelon Eating contest!

1:40 PM - 1:55 PM - Beard and Mustache Contest - prizes for natural and unnatural!

1:55 PM - Free ice cream provided by the Albany Chamber of Commerce

2 PM - 5th Annual Diaper Derby - registration at 1:30 PM - 6 months - 30 month babies can     participate:)
2:30 PM - 3:10 PM - East Bay Vivarium Reptile Show

3:10 PM - 3:35 PM - Pet Show

3:30 PM - 4 PM - family games including 3 legged races, egg toss, sack race and more!

 

San Pablo - 4th of July Family Celebration and Fireworks Show

 

The San Pablo 4th of July Family Celebration and Fireworks Show begins at 4 PM at the El Portal Soccer Field (2600 Moraga Rd, San Pablo, CA 94806).  The event is free and will have activities, food, games, entertainment and fireworks.  

 

Berkeley - 4th of July Fireworks Dinner Cruise 

 

This is a great way to enjoy great food, fireworks and have a beautiful night with family and friends.  You will board a Hornblower yacht at 7 PM from the Doubletree Marina at 200 Marina Blvd, Berkeley, CA.  The cruise departs at 7:30 PM and reruns at 11:00 PM.  During this three and a half hour Yacht Cruise you will enjoy a four-course seated dinner, hosted standard cocktail bar, live entertainment, and fantastic views of the Bay and a front row seat to the San Francisco Bay fireworks show.  The cost of this cruise is $148.50 and you can book your tickets by clicking here

 

Berkeley Marina 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks

 

Do you want to view fireworks at the Berkeley Marina?  Here you can enjoy fourth of July festivities at the Berkeley Marina from noon - 10 PM.  Free fun for the kids includes Adventure Playground where children can use hammers, nails, saws and paint with parental supervision until 8PM, face painting, giant slide and fun at the beach.   There will be food trucks, handmade crafts, pony rides, a petting zoo, nurd tag, sumo balls, carnival rides, bouncy area, mini train rides and more.  Fireworks will begin at 9:35 and will be shot off from a barge south of the Berkeley Pier - it is said that the best views will be on Frontage Drive south of the Pier or from HS Lordships’ parking lot. You can park at the marina fro $15 or use fee valet parking near Adventure Playground.   The road closes around 6 PM and reopens around 10:15 PM so people can arrive safely by foot and bike in between.
