Hello Everyone!
Today, you do not get a post from the clever mind of Rob… but instead you get me, the youngest daughter who can be blamed for some of the chaos and all of the grey hair!
I have never written to any of you before, but I have read a few of Dad’s posts and listened to him read your comments. It’s obvious to see how much he enjoys talking to all of you by the amount of laughter and teasing, as well as serious discussions on important points that he wants to talk about.
So why did I sneak onto his computer today?
Dad is not one for big parties with pomp and circumstance, so I am certain that he hasn’t even hinted it to you guys, but Wednesday, July 1st is his sixtieth Birthday. (Don’t worry, he will always be young at heart and quick to come back with a funny comment!)
He is simultaneously the most difficult person to shop for, but also very simple to please. It makes it challenging to come up with good presents, but it is even more fun for the effort! I won’t tell you just yet what he is getting in the morning because I am certain he will see this post before I wake up and give him his gift. I’ll let him tell you in the next few days… But what I can say is that it cost nothing more than just an hour of time and patience.
Like I said: difficult, but simple.
So along those lines, he would probably be bored by a singing birthday card or party hats and candles… But I am inviting you all to wish him a Happy Birthday! Because I know he will care more about any comments and well wishes from you guys, than he would about the generic “Happy Birthday Rob!” clip-art poster at work that will be taped to the microwave in the office kitchen.
Thank you everyone for all of the laughter and joy you have brought us in your comments over the last few years!
Keep on laughing! - Natalie
