Fair Park is home to the State Fair of Texas, Big Tex and more. The Hall of State is home to the Dallas Historical Society and is filled with Texas history. The African American Museum has one of the largest African-American Folk Art Collections I have seen. The Music Hall at Fair Park, well known for hosting Broadway Musicals, has recently been renovated to enhance its Spanish Baroque and Moorish Architecture. Fair Park is also home to the Cotton Bowl and the Texas Discovery Gardens.
White Rock Lake The history of this beautiful oasis in East Dallas is fascinating. It was once the water source for the city. Today, the lake and surrounding areas are enjoyed by people who love to walk, run, ride bicycles, enjoy the dog park with their furry friends, picnic, attend events at the Bath House Cultural Center, visit the Butterfly Garden and more.
Klyde Warren Park just north of the Dallas Arts District connects Uptown to Downtown. This park is a hub of activity every day. Visitors can enjoy Yoga in the Park; play with thier dogs in the well designed dog park complete with mini hills, water bubblers, fire hydrants and more; enjoy concerts and children's activities; purchase food from the popular food trucks; or dine in the Savor Gastropub Restaurant in the park.
