Issues With Zillow

By
Real Estate Agent with First Choice Realty, Inc

I received a text this morning from one of my sellers.  It concerned their high-end home that I have listed.  On Zillow, it is showing "Off The Market".  All this right before the 4th weekend!  Trulia.....You're killin' me!

Has anybody else had this problem?  If so, any idea how to get it corrected quickly.  I logged in and hit "Report A Problem".  But I am on the east coast, and they are on the west coast, so probably won't hear anything for 3-5 hours.

In the meantime, my seller is getting terribly upset with me!  If Zillow is going to use our listings for free, then they should allow us to make corrections on their site!

Feedback, please!

Woody, your MLS company may help. They are the ones that feed the information to the aggregators.

Do you have to follow the MLS rules and display correct status of listings? So does any other entity who uses the MLS data, right?

Tell your customer that Zillow is not the MLS and that thousands of other agents are forwarding their listing to their qualified buyers.

My experiences with Zillow have been just terrible!  They use our listing information for FREE, allow no control over it UNLESS you pay their fees to join their programs (Which is amazing they charge us to access our own data that they took from us for FREE!).    Getting a response from them is a nightmare, I reported an issue to them over a week ago, followed up twice since and still have not recieved a reply from them.

Kristin - I hope they get the problem fixed soon.

Steffy - I was planning on calling the MLS if the problem didn't get resolved.

David - I explain that when I list the property.

Suzanne - You are exactly right.  They are a pain, but buyers look there for houses.

I have one closed awhile back. I still receive leads (eMail) wanting to view....

I never posted it there I just politely tell them to look on MLS heck with X, y, or Z non-credible sites.
