Port St. Lucie, FL Rated one of the Safest Cities in America
Port St Lucie Police Department is staffed with 224 sworn police officers and a civilian staff of 66 full time employees who are committed to providing superior customer service and remaining one of America's safest cities.
The department has the philosophy of Community Oriented Policing. This belief is based on - "By working together, the citizens and the police are able to improve the quality of life in our community."
The result? The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) recently released the crime statistics for 2014 and once again, the City of Port St. Lucie was the Lowest Crime Rate in the State of Florida with a population over 100,000 residents. (after around 90,000 calls to service).
The City of Port St. Lucie is currently Florida's ninth largest city with a population of nearly 170,000. (note by build out to be 400,000). In 2014, Port St. Lucie experienced the lowest number of crimes since 2002.
The Chief of Police, John Bolduc attributes the lowest crime rate in 12 years to the strong working relationship and cooperation between the police department and the residents within the community.
Having the lowest crime rate in Florida is just one of the many reasons I am proud to call the City of Port St. Lucie my hometown - I moved here in 2000.
