Those of you who have read my blogs or (Rants) as I like to call them, are used to me addressing problems that people or government agencies have caused. Today is the 4th of July. I decided that I would not work today. Instead, I would spend the day relaxing with family and contemplating the blessings that I have been given.
At best, the Real Estate business is not an easy way to make a living. I tell young agents, "It's an easy way to make a little money, or a hard way to make a lot of money". Our advantage is that we have control over our own income. No one but ourselves limits us. When I look at myself in the mirror every morning, if I need a raise, I just need to work harder or be more productive during my work hours.
I'm thankful to be in a business such as this. Another advantage that we have is all of our clients, who become friends. Some of my closest friends started out as clients. Over the years, I have developed close relationships with so many of my clients and I'm thankful for every one of them. Much of my income is derived from former clients that decide to move after a few years for one reason or the other, or a past client's relative, co-worker, or friend, who needs an agent. Obviously, these people were pleased with my service, if not, I would not get their referrals.
So, as we celebrate our country's birthday, let us remember that, while it is not perfect, we have the best opportunities that exist in the world! We just have to work to make use of them.
Another point that I would like to bring up is the debt that we owe to our military, without whom, we would not enjoy the freedoms that we have. These brave men and women sacrifice for the rest of us, and in thousands of cases, have made the ultimate sacrifice for us. Let us never forget their courage. Without them our world, as we know it, would not exist.
I, for one, am not ashamed to say "God bless America!"
