During one of the many festivities that I had the luxury to enjoy this past holiday weekend, my phone rang, it was an alert from one of my online lead sources. Someone had inquired on one of my listings and I got a buyer lead. That innocent little lead made me smile, I quietly accepted my lead, sat back, wrote a quick email to the buyer and watched everyone around me enjoy the holiday celebrations. At that moment I was reminded of my own personal growth as a Real Estate Agent.
One year ago while waiting for the fireworks display to begin I had received my very first buyer lead. I had been licensed for all of 1 week and scared out of my mind of the future. At that time I accepted my buyer lead and quickly called a colleague, "what do I do now?" She walked me through the next steps and I hesitantly replied to the lead. I fumbled through the next few weeks, getting the buyer approved, showing homes and finally closing on my first transaction almost 4 months later. I had just quit my high paying corporate career to follow my heart to become a Real Estate agent. Best decision made ever!
This past year has been full of ups and downs. I never in my mind would have imagined how difficult it really is to juggle all the things that agents do but at the same time enjoy the most rewarding career and lifestyle I can ever imagine. During these last 12 months I have been tried by fire, Foreclosures, short sales, cash sales financed sales, rentals. You name I've done it. I've had transactions have complete smoothly, while others needed alot of nurturing to close and others did not close at all. I've even managed to get 14 listings under my belt.
Today, one year later I am comfortable to say that the next 12 months will be rock star status for me. With hard work, dedication and commitment I have managed to do ok for myself I no longer fumble.
I can't wait for the next 12 months. As the song says
"Baby, you're a firework, Come on, let your colours burst,
Make 'em go, "Aah, aah, aah" You're gonna leave 'em all in awe, awe, awe"
