Play the Cards That You Are Dealt

“Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must

have perseverance and above all. Confidence in

ourselves, we must believe that we are gifted

for something, and that this  something,

at whatever cost must be attained.”

Marie Curie 1867 -1934, Polish and Naturalized French

Physicist and Chemist, Awarded the Nobel Prize

As I see it . . . . . . .

Play the cards that you are dealt

People say that life is not fair . . . . and complain about the cards that they have been dealt.

Complaining does not change the cards . . . . or help you play the hand better. In fact complaining takes you eyes off your objectives . . . . It will zap your energy . . . . and spins your wheels without making any forward progress.

The real challenge is to take the cards that you have been dealt . . . . and to play them to the best of your ability.

Playing your cards takes the perseverance to push forward through the up and downs that you encounter on your success journey . . . . without quitting. Push forward with the determination that you will succeed . . . .  and with a sense of urgency to achieve your objectives.

Play the cards that you are dealt . . . . and you will create forward momentum . . . . . and you will leave the complainers in the dust on your success journey.

Lou- I like this on so many levels.  As Larry always tells me... it is what it is.  We often spent wasted time on complaining because of the cards we have when we could spend time figuring out what to do with them.

I think we have to take each day for what it is worth and go with the flow.  Yes, we can certainly influence things, but in the end we take what we get.

There are more billionaires that grew up having nothing then once that inherited money. You can achieve anything you want if you work hard enough in it, even Bill Gates said he never took a day off in his 20th, I don't think many people will sacrafice that much, but now he can live life however he wants.

Yep that is the only way you can play. I guess you can try to bluff your way through life but like in cards you will get called out and look the fool.

Hi Lou,  You're right about complaining doesen't change anything.  The cards are still the same as they were before you complained, and you don't feel better by complaining.

Being grateful we have some cards at all is worthy of not complaining. Lou, nice post, as usual.

I see too many people with a self defeating attitude. They might say things like...I can't do this because of that. I've never subscribed to that line of thinking. No matter what lies in front of me, I will do what I want and overtake the obstacles.

People prefer to complain about their cards, almost non want to do the work to change the hand. It is always worth it.
