So, I have been putting a lot of thought into the "Power of the Universe" lately. I think that it has been a long time coming, and with my favorite show "Heroes" and all the reading I have done, most recently with "The Secret," and with my insanely brainwashing listening to Joel Osteen, and Dr. Wayne Dyer's audiobooks. I have always had an interest in super powers and some of the supernatural, and have always loved movies with Super Heroes. The Matrix trilogy always gets me pumped, and if you'd ask my husband, he could tell you that I have pretended to do ‘Matrix like" tricks on several occasions. Everytime I watch movies like X-men, Star Wars or Lord of the Rings I am always completely riveted by them. I am a huge M. Night Shamalan fan, I think mainly because of the supernatural material behind every seemingly mundane situation. I don't think I live in a fantasy land, I think it is "there is something more to it" mentality that I have always had. What if some of the super powers these heroes have are really humanly possible?
One fictional character has the power of persuasion, while some have the power to paint pictures of the future, or see dead people. Some can bend spoons, heal themselves, or even have a mundane quirk that turns out to be the saving grace in a horrible situation. These aren't just in the movies. These stories have been with us through history.
Do we have the super power to shape our own destiny?
"The Secret" talks about the power of the human being to basically shape your own destiny, whether it be your day or your lifetime. It talks about sending out "frequencies" into the universe. Have you ever been thinking about someone and the phone rings and it's the person you were thinking about? This happens to me all the time, and I have heard others talking about that same experience. I always thought it was maybe a bit of ESP, intuition or whatever you want to call it. But, what if, as humans, we are making that happen. To me, that is a very POWERFUL thought. It's not that we can "see" things coming, it's that we can make things happen. Joel Osteen says the same thing, with his religious twist, and Dr. Wayne Dyer has the same thoughts with his more peaceful life twist.
My friend, Kelly and I have been best friends since kindergarten. She has always been an inspiration to me, because she never worries and is always lucky. When entering a raffle she will say that she is going to win, and she will. She has not a worried negative thing to say and thus has been absolutely blessed in her life. Although she goes through the same struggles everyone else does, you wouldn't know it, and I'm not even sure she would recognize it if she was struggling. Throughout our history, some people have seen Kelly as kind of dippy or ditzy. Everything's always okay with Kelly. She is the only one I know that has truly mastered her super power. She has created her life by thinking her life.
We can make things happen all the time, so it's not a new concept. The power of our destiny seems to be not so supernatural after all.
Believe in yourself, you can be anything you want to be.
Be positive it attracts positive.
Do onto others, as you would have done on to you.
The concept of Karma: effects of all deeds actively create past, present and future experiences, thus making one responsible for one's own life.
Life is what you make it.
In Real Estate, the rich keep getting richer. The agents who are the best, stay the best. The best salesman believes that his home is going to sell now, and that the buyer is just going to "love this house" that they are going to show, and it happens. They envision their goals and achieve them. I have even caught myself making fun of the very successful agent by saying that they "sprinkled their magic dust" on the home to get it sold.
Whatever it is, some things do seem out of the ordinary when I look around. I am in the learning process to hone in on what I feel is a very innate super-power in all of us. I always thought my only power was to "read" people, which in retrospect is probably why I unknowingly got into Human Resources when I first started my career. And why I have always managed to surround myself with positive people, because I tend to be negative. And how, I always seemed to pick the right friends, because if I got a bad feeling from someone I would steer clear from them as a child.
The power of thought seems to be very powerful. What's your Super Power?
