One of the toughest things about working with seniors with Reverse Mortgages is that when it is finished, I feel sad. I feel sad, that I am not going to be going to their house every week any longer. So many of the seniors I work with live alone. Many of them have family that lives out of town and they do not get many visits. Some of the seniors are unmarried and have never had any children.
They get so lonely and being able to come by and brighten up their day makes my job worth doing!
Today, we closed a reverse mortgage loan in Fresno, California. This elderly lady has lived by herself for the last 25 years. Her husband died tragically in his early 50's. Her children live in other states and she is pretty much alone.
The proceeds from the reverse mortgage will allow her to leave Fresno, California to go and visit her children and see her grandchildren. Without the reverse mortgage she would be stuck in her tiny house in the 100 plus degree summer days of Fresno!
I count it such a priviliege to be able to help the seniors of the Central Valley and Central Coast of California with their reverse mortgage needs. Getting to know them, listening to their years and years of knowledge, and being in their homes gives me so much joy!
