Next Saturday, July 18th, 2015, St. Tammany's Bogue Falaya Park in Covington will host a race like no other. At the stroke of noon, the St. Tammany Duck Derby will begin as 5000 Rubber Derby Ducks will be released into the Bogue Falaya River and begin racing towards the finish line. Adopt a single duck or a whole flock for a donation of as little as $5 to the St. Tammany Humane Society. If your duck wins the race, you win $1000, even if you are not present. But, of course you will want to be there for the festivities starting from 10am! Entry to the park is FREE for the event!

The family friendly activities include face painting, a Duck Pluck, balloons, and a Decorate a Duck station. See adoptable dogs and cats from the St. Tammany Humane Society and maybe take home a furry friend! Live music will be performed by Christian Serpas & Ghost Town. Aside from the $1000 grand prize, you could also win prizes like: $100 gift cards to restaurants or grocery stores, a Charbroil BBQ Pit plus a $50 grocery card, Coffee for a Year at the The Scotts’ Coffee & Tapas Bar in Mandeville, and more!
If that wasn't enough to encourage you to turn up with the whole family, look at this list of awesome sponsors and food vendors! It includes Zea’s Rotisserie, Zulu’s Voodoo Dogs, Mellow Mushroom, iShop New Orleans / Binders Bakery, Nonna Randazzo’s, Sweet Daddy’s BBQ, and Sugar Shack Snowballs. In addition, 20% of all proceeds from food sales that day will be donated back to the St. Tammany Humane Society.
Adopt your duck now and see you there!
