5 Ideas to Enjoy The Outdoors This Summer

Summer means having fun outdoors all the time. Playing and hanging outside is not only good for you physically, but it is mentally and psychologically nurturing as well. Having a house with an outdoor space is a treat for buyers. Most buyers consider having patios and front porches as essential or desirable factor in buying a house. If you think your kids are having too much of "gadget-time", here are some tips to help you enjoy the outdoors.
1. Create a comfortable space. When you go outside, you should be able to relax and unwind without having to stress over little things. If you're not feeling relaxed when you go outside, you're doing something wrong. You can add comfy furniture like a simple cushion or a throw pillow. You can also add an outdoor carpet or rug so you're comfortable walking barefoot.
2. Create privacy. It doesn't mean that because you're outside, you'll have to sacrifice your privacy. If your outdoor space is near the road or within your neighbor's view, you can add privacy by using natural screens in the form of shrubs or hedges. If not, you can go to your local DIY store and install a prefab screen.
3. Wifi hotspot. Do you need to do some work or  do some browsing while relaxing and having a cup of coffee on your patio? Make sure that you have a working wi-fi connection all over the house and outside the house so you are still digitally connected when you need to. You can also install an outdoor wi-fi antenna to boost your signal. Do not forget to have a charging station so you don't have to go inside to charge your gadgets.  Add wireless speakers and outdoor TV to your outside entertainment so you can stay outside and enjoy the big game.
4. Light them up. Install outdoor lighting so you don't have to stare at each other in the dark. Outdoor lighting lets you enjoy the night scenery, makes your outdoor space safer and lets you spend more time outside, even the whole night if you want! You can hire an electrician to set up your outdoor lighting or you can do it yourself if you are confident with your skills. Use lights to highlight trees and other details of your space. Illuminate pathways, walkways, rails and steps to avoid accidents.
5. Personalize. Your outdoor space is the place where you are supposed to relax. It would help if you add some personal touch to it. For example, you can hang an outdoor chandelier or a personal decor. Pick furniture and rugs that are your favorite color.

No matter what happens, you should feel comfortable moving around your outdoor space. It should draw family and friends together and inspire you to relax and have a good time.
