Aldi Grocery Opening in Alvin Texas

Aldi Grocery a low-price grocery store will soon be open in Alvin Texas. The food store will be located on Bypass 35. Aldi has 1,400 stores in 32 states across the nation. Aldi does carry some food name brands but 90 percent of the goods are Aldi brands.

In order to keep the prices low at Aldi’s they have developed a simple and innovative rental cart system. Not having a person to employ to bring the carts back to a parking place helps keep the prices low. This keeps the cart parked in a central location by leasing them out charging a refundable fee of 25 cents each.

Another way to keep prices down is by charging for shopping bags. What a great way to keep it green. If you currently use earth bags then you are already ahead of the game.

Don't have one really close to me, but there is one that I go to when I go to Macon to shop.  Always find some great bargains in there.

I use to shop at an Aldi store in Illinois. I sure wish we had one on the Western Slope of Colorado. We could use an inexpensive food store.

The one thing I get frustrated about living here is we have a monoply for groceries HEB. I would love to have some competition.

Low prices on dairy products.  Down side store does not have a large selection, and buying produce is different.  They are doing well in Dallas.

Tammy Lankford I am not an Aldi fan. I like lots of variety and some of the can goods I have never heard of the brands. I guess they are from up north, I am not really sure. When I went they hardly had no veggies and almost no meat.

Well Lou Ludwig I am going to wait and see how it goes for them here. I do want more commercial businesses in Alvin.

William Feela there is one on just about every small town. Houston has more since it is so large.

Debbie Laity I love grocery stores that are cheaper in prices. However, I really am not an Aldi fan.

I love HEB Alan Kirkpatrick ... especially the full stores with the fresh foods with out pesticides and etc.

Well I don't do dairy very well. I agree with you Richard on on your selection comment. I am glad they are doing well in Dallas. Maybe that is where those strange named canned goods are from.

Sussie, I have found some incredible buys shopping at Aldi's. Usually I just use my carryout bags instead of the carts.
