Yesterday was a very good day. It was a great one for my clients who sold their home in the morning, and closed on their new home that afternoon. It was a great day for the buyers in the morning and the sellers in the afternoon. It was a great day for all the agents involved as well. At the end of the day, all were pleased.
Ok, so?
Well today will be spent handling paperwork. Yuck. I have various websites that need to be updated, paper files to be filed, digital files to be archived, signs to be cleaned and stored, accounting to be done, etc. It is a small price to pay for a great day of closings, but its still paperwork.
It is a never ending cycle. Once a listing is taken, I work for days putting together the marketing collateral pieces, setting up clients in databases and websites, buying and setting up domain names, placing signs, etc, etc. Paperwork.
Then begins the follow up process from showings, contract negotiations, amendments, dates and times monitoring, and back to closings, where the paperwork continues. Round and round we go.
I'm not necessarily complaining though. I like being busy and helping people buy and sell homes. The paperwork is a bit of a badge of honor that is part of the process.
