Gardens in Murphy NC   Hey, what are you going to do with that endless supply of zucchini fruit in Murphy NC? What better way to get rid of those garden monsters and celebrate this holiday on August 8th with sharing some.

Experienced gardener's know that Zucchini is one of the most prolific plants in all of the gardening world. A single plant produces a seemingly endless supply of Zucchini. A small row of zucchini has the potential to end world hunger.

By the time August arrives, local gardeners are reaping far more zucchini than they can possibly use. We use it daily in an untold number of recipes, from soups and stews, to breads, dips and casseroles. Don’t tell anyone, but Carol actually has a handy-dandy machine that turns zukes into spaghetti-like strands!

Still, the fruit matures on the vine faster than anyone can even pick it. Gardeners, almost desperate, as they try to give zucchini away to family, friends, coworkers and everyone they encounter.  Even non-gardeners have had enough and it seems like everyone avoids you with your arms full of "FREE" zucchini. Well, nothing really goes to waste in our garden since we have chickens and they turn out some farm fresh eggs in return :)

But for some, desperate times calls for desperate measures so it might be time to sneak over, under the cover of darkness, to your neighbor's porch, and unload some zucchini! This may solve your problem for today.  But, what will you do with the harvest tomorrow!?!

That's a great idea Mary Yonkers ! Our garden really hasn't done as well this year with the humidity and rain, I guess, but we have been dehydrating a lot of the zukes, squash, peppers and tomatoes as they come in. Love to just grab a handful and throw it into rice or soup after a late day out showing homes.

We could use some of the surplus zucchini at our house.
