With summer comes cleaning and home updates. One of the great things about living in the Twin Cities area is that summer is a great time to spruce up your house!
Are you itching to change your living areas? Are you thinking it will be too expensive to change anything? Penny Wrenn of LearnVest has some great ideas and suggestions on how to do each room for under $500! In her article she addresses the living room, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom and has it organized by $100, $300, and $500 renovations and revamps.
The living room is the center of your home, and you want it to be inviting and comfortable. Some budget friendly ways to spruce up your living room include painting, using fabric as a valance, adding light and mirrors, and using a color theme throughout the room.
When you retreat to your bedroom you want it to be cozy and organized. A few ways to create a feeling of comfort are adding decorative molding and contrasting paint colors, new bedding options, improved nightstands, and a new duvet.
Making small changes such as replacing knobs and handles, and painting the cabinets can make the kitchen more appealing. If you have it in the budget (under $300), new vinyl flooring comes in many colors and options and is easy to install. Replacing the countertop may be a more expensive option, but the end result will be amazing.
Bathrooms tend to easily get cluttered and maintained, but can easily be enhanced. Find a fabric shower curtain that you love and purchase new bath mats to match. Functional shelving is an easy way to organize the clutter while keeping everything in reach. Vinyl or wood flooring can also be inexpensive to install in bathrooms, as well as new wallpaper.
