Do you know why...

...April 15th is known as Tax Day?

Hurry up and file! The last thing you want to do is end up owing the government money; you'll incur some nice late fees (and nobody likes late fees)!

If you know you're going to be late to file your taxes today, you can and should file for an extension. One way is through the Form 4868...you'll get a 6-month extension with forms 1040, 1040A, or 1040 EZ.

An extension, another form to fill out:-( I've filed extensions many times, it's not fun. it just extends the agony.

I wish we had a tax system that would make things easier. I just heard about this Fair Tax plan, I thought it was interesting. check it out:

Of course, it sounds too good to be true. but hey, you never know, maybe it can be.

Ricardo, just don't contact your CPA next week.  They'll be on a much deserved vacation.

Brian: mine has already booked his trip to Vegas, literally!

Peter: I'm taking a client of mine to see our tax guy to help her fill out the 4868. It's not a long form to fill out, just foreign when you haven't done it before.

I am so glad it's tax day.  Now I don't have to hear about tax day for about 7 more months!
