Scenes From the 2015 Palisade Lavender Festival

Scenes From the 2015 Palisade Lavender FestivalI've been going to this festival since it started. It's always been a great time, but this year was the best yet. This isn't an extra large festival. It's held in a small Western Colorado town in a small park, but the turnout was the best I've seen. My favorite day is Saturday in the Town Park. The festival actually runs Friday through Sunday. Here's more information.

There were less than 50 vendors but the variety and unique nature of the products for sale made it seem like there were more. Two of the local wineries were also on hand (this is wine country).

Scenes From the 2015 Palisade Lavender FestivalOf course there were all kinds of products using lavender...cookies, breads, lavender wands, healing balms, lotions, oils and sprays. I expected to find the lavender products...after all that's what this event is all about.

The unexpected was the garden art and jewelry made from old spoons. How about a basket made of pine needles embellished with small pine cones? One booth had seasoned olive oils, balsamic vinegars and spice blends. They would make up a mixture of oil and vinegar and spices and then let you sample the result. A wood turner was there with the most beautiful handmade bowls.

Scenes From the 2015 Palisade Lavender FestivalThe music is always good. David and Tamara know all the old rock and roll songs.

The cooking demonstrations will inspire those with culinary talents.

This is a must do Colorado festival. Palisade is a wonderful small community just outside of Grand Junction. The people are friendly and there are many unique shops in the area.

I've lived on Colorado's Western Slope for over 24 years. I love this area and all it has to offer, and I enjoy sharing what I know about my home. As a REALTOR®, I also love to share my expertise in this area as well. If you need any real estate information for Montrose County, or Delta County, Colorado...please give me a call.

Thank you for stopping by, Noah Seidenberg . It truly was a fun festival.

I'm glad you liked my comment about playing tourguide for some tourists I didn't even know. To make matters worse, they wanted me to drive them around at 4PM on July 3rd. Now for you...that would be a different story. I would love to show you the area.

There were these thick, gooey brownies that caught my eye, James Dray . I was tempted, but didn't get one.

Hi, Sandy Padula and Norm Padula, JD, GRI ...no those weren't lavender chip cookies. But they did have lavender cheesecake. That sounds very interesting to me. I didn't try it.

Hi, Angelica Blatt ...I would be a member of the local lavender club if we had one. I think that's pretty neat that your community has a lavender club.

Hi, Emelyn Morris-Sayre ...your lavender jelly has such a beautiful color. How awesome that you make it. The festival is usually the first or second weekend in July. Let me know if you decide to come over for it. I'll meet up with you if you would like.

BPOs have really slowed down for me, Scott. It's about time. Now you know that I've said that, I will get slammed with orders. I'm glad you got to enjoy some pool time over the weekend.

Hi, Silvia Dukes PA, REALTOR, CRS, CIPS, SRES ...we sprayed and lotioned ourselves up with so many different lavender products. I was like a kid at a perfume counter.

This is a very low key festival, Robert (Bob) Gilbert . It's still a small festival which makes it nice, too.

I love lavender, too, Bob Ratliff, Broker Associate - REALTOR® CRS, GRI ~ 512-587-5689 . I had my eye on one of those brownies next to the cookies. They looked so good. I was tempted, but I didn't buy one.

Hi, Michael Dagner ...Palisade is known for it's peaches. And wine. They also have a brewery that makes some great beer. This little town really has a lot going for it.

The sampling was fun and tasty, Debbie Reynolds . I'll have to tell you more about the oil and vinegar combinations sometime. I think you might find it very interesting.
