It's Push Time Let's Get Er Done
Just when I thought I might have a Sunday off.
I have a wonderful home under contract. It's set to close this Friday. There were contingencies. Now the contingencies have been met. It hasn't been an easy transaction, but it also hasn't been one of the most difficult ones, either. We haven't heard from the buyer's side and we are proceeding forward to closing. The last contingency was Friday.
My sellers are both disabled. They had to sell this home that was a labor of love for them. They built it back in the early 80's. They wanted an easy exit on this home they built and loved. It is a beautiful home with amazing mountain views and gardens.
Now they both live on the other side of the state so they can be closer to their kids.
Closing is less than a week away. There are still things in the house. They left it somewhat staged, because they thought the house would show better with some furniture and plants. It did.
Now we have to move that stuff. The contingencies pushed us closer to the closing date then we wanted. The buyer didn't want to move the closing date and neither did the sellers. Now we have to get the stuff out of the house.
That's where I come in. A very good friend of the sellers is also helping out. He's taken care of the house through the winter and watered the plants. Today I managed to get rid of one of four beds. One sofa sleeper and five very large plants. There are several more very large plants to find a home for.
This is quality stuff and the sellers wanted to see it put to good use. I'm making sure that happens. I have some contacts at agencies that might know needy families that need the beds and sofas.
The neighbor and I are working very hard on this. We will get it done.
Where did my Sunday afternoon go? Oh yes...I was moving plants that are so large they required a dolly to get them to my car. Then I realized they wouldn't even clear the roof of my car. One phone call got a few plants moved. There's not much left, and we will get it out of there.
My sellers are thrilled. I'm tired.
