The town of Lebanon is in east central Connecticut. Lebanon was settled in 1665. When the first pastor, Rev. Joseph Parsons, was ordained in 1700 the town was incorporated by uniting lands granted by the Connecticut Colony and areas purchased from the Pequot Indians. Lebanon has always been primarily an agricultural town. The farms, fields, lakes, and historical landmarks all combine to create a striking pastoral setting.

The tranquil little community of Lebanon, Connecticut is one of New England's best kept secrets. A mile in length, the Lebanon Green is one of the largest in New England and still retains cultural and natural features that have changed little since the 18th century. A wide variety of recreational programs for all ages includes sports, summer playgrounds and special events.

The area abounds with charming B&B's, several country inns and motels, hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing trails, and numerous antique shops, historic sites, and museums.

Lebanon is one of the 25 towns included in the Quinebaug-Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor. This beautiful corridor, created in 1994, is recognized as one of the last unspoiled and undeveloped areas in the Northeastern United States.
