Spokane's South Hill, something for everyone!

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX of Spokane 77217

As a resident of Spokane's south hill, I have experienced first hand the amazing quality of life here. Wether you like an older home with tons of character (1900-1939) or a 40's solid design with coved cielings and solid surfaces, or the classic 50's and 60's rancher/ramblers, there is something to fit your fancy on the South Hill. As you travel further south, you find styilish 70's and 80's homes making up wonderful established neighborhoods. Span out just abit, and brand new housing developments are gracing the more rural parts of south Spokane. One beautiful new developement just off the south hill is Eagle Ridge.  (Believe it or not, my father used to own 55 of the acres that is now this huge well planned housing development!) see www.homeateagleridge.com  for more information! Hey, don't forget to call me if you want a personal tour!

Known for it's spectacular parks, the South hill is nearly famous to northwest travelers. ManitoPark*is stunning, with amazing floral gardens, including the rose garden, lilac garden, Japanese Garden, and the amazing Duncan Garden. One of my favorite summer passtimes is to meet friends for a bite to eat at the Park Bench at Manito Park. It is so casual and charming to see all of the people strolling by enjoying this huge amazing park!

My kids have attended several south hill schools, including Wilson Elementary, Hutton Elementary, Hamblen Elementary, Sacajawea Jr. High, Lewis and Clark and Ferris High School. I have had consistently good experiences with these wonderful schools.

Lets talk FOOD! I love Ferrante's on South Regal. Delicious Italian food, and a great gift shop too! I also like (love) MAGGIES SOUTH HILL GRILL and think Maggie herself is great! The food there is very consistently delicious and very home-made. The Rockwood Bakery just off Grand and 18th is very good, just off Grand and 18th! A hop skip and jump to Manito Park.

The famous Elk resteraunt in Brownes Addition now has another great spot, this time on the south hill, at 27th and Mt. Vernon, called 27. Just now opened as of April 1st 2008, this is sure to be a favorite!

Real estate prices on the south hill are a fraction above other parts of town. This may be because of the amount of beauty, trees, parks, and historical Craftsman homes. There are certainly other parts of town that are equal in beauty.

Speaking of older homes, my brother who has been a realtor for 30 years in the Spokane area has an absolutley STUNNING home for sale.

Get a load of this house!!! Here is the virtual tour!   http://tours.tourfactory.com/tours/tour.asp?t=364609

Yes, this IS my dream house, just a bit out of reach...
