NO, I don't!
I recently received an email from a "friend" who wanted to let me know she was listing her house with another agent and hoped I would understand. While I am pretty easy going, I couldn't let this one pass. I told her NO, I DIDN"T UNDERSTAND.
You see we have been "friends" for more than 20 years. When her daughter was thinking about buying a condo, I spend countless hours with them. And when the daughter decided not to buy, it was what it was.
However, earlier this spring I emailed my "friend" and told her how hot the market was in her neighborhood. She politely ressponded they had no interest in selling. So to get this email is just off the charts. So for anyone who doesn't get it, here's the low down....
Realtors who work 7 days a week, week after week, year after year, don't do it to have fun! THIS IS HOW WE EARN A LIVING! So when you list your home with someone you have no relationship with, HOW IS IT NOT PERSONAL!
Just to be clear, I don't expect anyone to GIVE ME the business, but I do expect the opportunity to compete. On a daily basis, I have people who call me, having heard of my reputation who want me to list their houses, so how is it that people who I know of 20+ years would work with a stanger? I just don't get it.
I welcome anyone else's insights.
