When Should You Contact
a Realtor?

With so much technology readily available at your fingertips, it becomes harder to determine when you actually need to contact a real estate professional to help you with your home buying/selling needs.
Years ago, before the internet, once you've decided it was the right time to buy/sell a home you would schedule a meeting to go to the Realty office to sit down and meet with a real estate professional face to face. I know it is hard to believe but that is what happened!
BUYERS
In the "Now Age," most people start the home buying process backwards. They decide they want to buy a house, do research online, begin searching for a house and then call a real estate professional to schedule an appointment to see the house they found online.
The internet is a great resource for researching various topics, however we are cutting out the most valuable asset which is the personal touch by people. When you starting thinking about wanting to buy a house, you should contact a Realtor to discuss your options. The Realtor will be able to help you find a lender so you can get pre-qualified for a mortgage.
If you are able to get pre-qualified for a loan, the Realtor will be able to help you find homes that fit your needs within your pre-qualified price range. If you are not able to get pre-qualified for a loan at that time, you can begin working on the steps needed to get pre-qualified in the future. Your Realtor will be able to stay in touch with you until you can get pre-qualified for a loan. The Realtor will be your first point of contact to help you find the resources needed to facilitate your transaction now or in the future.
SELLERS
People sell their homes for many reasons: expanding their family, need more space, relocating, better neighborhood, etc. Sometimes you may have advanced notice and other times, the decision to move comes very quickly. Either way, you should contact a Realtor when you know selling your home is an option.
The Realtor will be able to help you by providing a market analysis (home valuation) to determine the price your home will sell, suggests renovations needed in order to get the most money for your home and they will be able to provide advice and support while you prepare your home and family to move.
The goal of your Realtor is to help you facilitate the purchase or sale of your home. They will be able to provide invaluable information on the process and the best way to execute your desires. If you need help finding a Realtor, you should ask your friends and family for a referral or use the internet to find a Realtor in your area.
