There is no secret recipe or magic bullet to real estate success. Building a successful business from the ground up takes drive, ambition and most importantly - time. You need goals and must be motivated to achieve them. Once you’ve established your commitment to these goals, you need to establish an effective marketing plan to help you get there.

Whether you’re new to the industry or whether you’ve been in the field for a few years and are looking to accelerate your results – incorporate the following “5 C’s of Real Estate Marketing” to accelerate your journey on the path to success.

  1. Content-Driven

Promoting your business and providing useful, educational content for your prospects can be two very different things. Don’t just sell your services; provide your expertise to the benefit of your potential clients. If you’re incorporating a website or blog into your real estate marketing strategy, you should be coming up with relevant, educational content that will be beneficial to any prospective clients. Doing so will benefit you in two ways; it will show off your credibility and expertise and it will establish trust with new leads.

  2. Creative

Don’t post or rehash the same old boring stuff – come up with creative content and marketing materials that will help you stand out to leads in your market. Focus on topics that are buzzworthy in your area - concentrate on local market trends, discuss controversial local construction plans and share things that will spark conversations. The more engaged your leads become, the better your chances are of having the … “so, what are you looking for in a property?” chat.

  3. Concise

Plan your content and marketing campaigns ahead of time. Build an outline and use it to publish digestible amounts of information in various formats. Consider the fact that your prospects will often be consuming your content on phones or tables, so format things in a way that it’s easy to scroll through and read on any device – an increasingly important consideration in an increasingly mobile world.

  4. Consistent

You MUST be consistent to be successful in marketing. Yes, being consistent is bold, underline and italicize important. Getting into a good rhythm only to forget about it three weeks in because your business picks up won’t do you any favors in the long run. Take advantage of down times and plan out your marketing efforts far enough in advance so you can accomplish everything you need to in shorter business hours when things get busy.

  5. Connected

Always strive to answer the question “What problem am I solving or what question am I answering for my prospects?” when you come up with new marketing content. It is incredibly importantly to make sure your prospects’ wants and needs are the first thing you think of as you plan out your marketing efforts. If you’re not serving the prospects, you’re ultimately wasting your time. Be aware of what they expect from you, how you can help them and what you’ve learned from prior transactions. Use that information to craft an overall effective marketing strategy.

These concepts, though broad, are immeasurably valuable.  Aim to comprehensively apply them to all of your real estate marketing and branding efforts. As you plan your next marketing campaign - ask yourself these five questions to make sure you’re on track for success:

  •  Is my marketing content driven?
  • Is my content creative?
  • Am I being concise?
  • What does it mean to be consistent with this marketing effort?
  • How am I connecting with prospects?
