The last week was fabulous. A little rain dampened the spirits somewhat but it was great to get outside and have some fun. My favorite kind of outdoor recreation is Fishing but cutting the grass can be a passable substitute when my Funny Little Honey gets me going. Here in the Mountains of Western North Carolina and Northeast Georgia the grass grows a lot faster than the fish.
Yepper, I came home from work and found a 6-pack on the mower and it was off to the back forty for me. I will tell you what-I am definitely house broke. I always have the last word-even if it is Yes dear!
There were a couple of die hards out on the Notely below Blue Ridge Dam (Northeast Georgia) and a few fellows on the Valley river (Cherokee Cnty N.C.) as well. They seemed to be quite happy. A lot of spring Bass fishermen have been taking their boats out and working their arms in.
It doesn't seem to matter whether you are working worms, corn or flies-them trout are bodacious hungry-look out. As someone like Albert Einstein once said, "A bad day fishin' is better than a good day workin'.
The Mountain Tour Trains have been running on schedule in both Blue Ridge and Bryson City. Both of these great pieces of history that tour through our area have web sites and schedules. I know that you can order tickets on-line for the Bryson City excursion.
